Support the Actors Centre
As an individual you may feel that you would like to make a contribution directly towards a particular area of the Actors Centre’s activities - perhaps helping to support an outreach project, sponsor a workshop, or contributing towards a new production. Or you might be interested in supporting our 30th Birthday Campaign.
A member of the Development Department would be delighted to discuss these options with you - please contact us on 44 (0)20 7632 8007 or email development@actorscentre.co.uk
Leaving a legacy is another way to pledge your support . Many people leave legacies to charities in their will, and one of the advantages of so doing is the reduction of inheritance tax on their estates.
If enjoyment of theatre, film and TV has been an important part of your life, why not arrange to support the organisation that looks after the mainstays of the entertainment profession after your death? Actors will continue to need the Actors Centre as long as the profession exists, and your bequest will ensure that this unique organisation will flourish far into the future.
It’s a fallacy that you have to be rich to leave legacies to charity. All such donations are welcome, and, as has been said before, many small donations can add up to a sizeable sum. Most of the donations received by the Actors Centre have come from individuals; members, friends, supporters, and it is through them that the Centre has been sustained for so long.
There are three main types of legacy. Your solicitor is best placed to advise you which would best suit your circumstances and resources.
- A residuary Legacy. The gift of the whole or share of your estate, after the settlement of debts and all specific gifts made by your will
- A pecuniary Legacy. A gift of a specific cash sum
- A specific gift of personal possessions – i.e. books, costumes, art, archive material – leaving shares is another popular method of charity giving
Your gift could commemorate a loved one, thus perpetuating a name in an area which means a lot to them.
Please inform us if you wish to support the Actors Centre by leaving a legacy so that we can acknowledge your generosity.
